Who are Sussex’s unsung heroes this autumn?
For the search is on to find those people with the biggest hearts in our community, to be recognised at The Best of Sussex Community Awards. The Hilton Metropole Hotel Brighton will be the stage for our inaugural awards which are organised by the Herald and take place on Sunday, December 8th. JPIMedia Events has launched its quest to recognise and reward people from all walks of life who go that extra mile for the good of others.
From the spirit of youth and Best School to the person deemed to be the bravest of the brave, JPIMedia is looking to recognise the county most special citizens.
There are categories, too, for the finest sporting achievement, for the best charity or fundraiser, and for a carer of the year. Week in, week out, the pages of the Sussex newspaper titles are sprinkled with stories of heroic acts and charitable behaviour.
Now is the chance for our readers to tell us about the special people they know. These are the people who go that extra mile. Young and old, from all walks of life, they care for others or perform the most incredible acts and deeds. Most shun recognition and do what they do simply out of love for others. They are so often the people who bind our communities together.
Thank you so much – it meant a lot to me.
I just wanted to email to say how amazing yesterday was, I have been to various award evenings for my fundraising, however, this was my favourite for many reasons. Firstly, everyone was so supportive; it’s easy to say that everyone deserves it, but I felt like the nominees and supporters were genuinely so caring and felt honoured to be with such inspiring people. Everyone had a story as to why they are doing what they are which was very interesting to hear.
My family really enjoyed the event also and the trip on the i360 ended it perfectly!
As said previously, it was an incredible event and there were so many amazing people there… thank you on behalf of everyone at the event. I wouldn’t change anything.
